We survived the Fourth of July!

I don't have any pictures of this yet, but it was too good to wait. We had an incident with an illegal cannon at an undisclosed location. The missionaries caught most of the action on tape and posted it to youtube. The kid at the end clapping and screaming "that was awesome" is my son Ryker. Captain Safety was not pleased. Enjoy!

My Texas Star

This photo from the past is my Texas Star, Ryker in the First Grade. Brings a smile to your face.

Happiness Found

I haven't been posting much lately, cause, well, the title of my blog is Happiness, and I have been struggling a tiny bit lately. I have been very sad and worried about a few good friends lately and worried about my dad's cancer. I have decided that this isn't the whole cause of my blues though. For the first time in my life, I don't have something big to look forward to. Since I can remember, I have always been excited about the next big thing in my life; graduation, college, marriage, babies, new houses, big move, my one big trip ;-) Right now, I just don't have much in the works. I am making a good effort to live in the now, and appreciate my awesome life.

Yesterday, I basically stabbed my little sis in the back and told her that I really needed to go to Education Week at BYI. Last year I promised her that if she watched my kids so I could go, I would watch her kids this year so she could go. I feel like a complete heel. She had to really scramble to find people to leave her kids with, and my dear husband is doing a lot of the watching, both her kids and mine (7 total!) I owe them both big time, but I know this is just what I need to lift my spirits out of the dump. A major bonus perk is the I get to see Katri and Michelle. I'm sure to have tons of great stuff to blog by the weekend. Happiness found!

Fun Find

I found these "Meyer" lotion and soaps at the dollar spot in Target. I couldn't resist loading up on Lemon, Lime and Orange.

Katrina's Visit

It was so fun to have Katrina and the girls here for a visit. Tuesday we went for a girls movie night and saw 1408. It was a crazy, scary movie, but I enjoyed going out so much. Harry totally ignored us in the above picture.

We took the kids swimming and to the Discovery Center. It was just so great to stay up late talking and catching up, the kids got along great and it was fun to see how much the girls had grown.

Cub Scout Day Camp

So, crazy week. I can't believe how little time I have had for computer fun. But I will say, I got a lot more tan and exercise in without it.
Wed. and Thurs. were full days at camp and hovering at about 100 degrees. We had a blast with the water bottle rockets. I really want to make a few of the launchers for our own family. The boys qualified in BB gun and bow and arrows both days. On day two they had to pass an obstacle course to become pony express riders. It was so clever. At one point they had to ride through a hail storm, which was me pelting them with soaked splash balls. I was so stiff the next day it was pitiful. I think we need to work more water fights into the summer schedule.

Thanks to the girls who watched my littles while I took my biggs to day camp. I know it was a special sacrifice for the out of town guests.
